

Regina Mae O'Connor, 76, of Chatham, died at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Regina was born November 6, 1933 in Farmersville, the daughter of William R. and Nellie Morrisey Brown. She married Fred D. O'Connor on October 20, 1956 in Farmersville. Regina attended St. Isadore in Farmersville and graduated from Farmersville High School. She began working for General Telephone and then Chicago Title and Trust. Regina was later a partner and bookkeeper at O'Connor Mailing Service Inc. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower parish and the Lake Press Club. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a past member of the Ladies Guild at Church of the Little Flower and the K of C 4179 Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed dancing, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and games on the computer, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Alan O'Connor; two brothers, Arthur and Roger Brown; and step-mother, Edith McAnarney Brown. She is survived by her husband, Fred of Chatham; five children, Daniel (wife, Christina) O'Connor of Chatham, Kathleen (husband, Charles) Reimer of Springfield, Donald (wife, Melinda) O'Connor of Springfield, Karen (husband, Mark) Lantz of Glenarm and Jay O'Connor of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Shelby and Sam O'Connor, Karen (husband, Brandon) Duree, Michelle Hymer, Blake O'Connor and Courtney Mae and Allie Lantz; one great grandchild, Connor Morris; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Family will receive friends from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Church of the Little Flower, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola and Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, co-celebrants. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family of Regina Mae O'Connor is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield.
