Richard E. Moore

Richard was born on August 26, 1937 in Springfield, the son of Stanley Sr. and Charlotte (Adams) Moore. He married Mary Elizabeth Kickner on October 16, 1976, at Berean Baptist Church in Springfield.

Richard graduated from Lanphier High School and attended Lawrence School for his nursing degree. He served his country in the United States Army. Richard worked as an LPN for 29 years at St. John’s Hospital. He was a member of Grace Church for 45 years. Richard spent his spare time working on cars and watching wrestling; however, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stanley Moore, Jr.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Moore of Springfield; son, Matthew Moore of Springfield; daughter, Amanda Burris of Springfield; granddaughters, Hailey Burris and Natalie Putnam, both of Springfield; sister-in-law, Doris (husband, Ron) Perkins of Springfield; and several cousins.

Private family burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the Department of Defense.
