Richard D. Schroeder, 79, of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Hillsboro Area Hospital. Richard was born on September 11, 1934, in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Edward and Ruth (Thur) Schroeder. Richard married Mary Fletcher in Hillsboro on September 11, 2004. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose, and an avid golfer who had 2 recorded holes in one while playing.
Surviving Richard is his loving wife Mary Schroeder, his children: Ricky Schroeder, Paula Schroeder, Diane Schroeder, and Jason Schroeder, all of Buffalo, NY, his step-children: Tom (Lori) Murphy of Irving, IL, Mike (Tricia) Murphy, of Hillsboro, IL, Tim Murphy of Hillsboro, IL, and Josh Murphy of Jacksonville, IL, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Bisch & Son Funeral Home in Springfield, IL. A private family service will follow at a later date.
