

She was born in Philadelphia, PA., March 7, 1923 the daughter of Anthony and Catherine DelBellis Esposito. Rita proudly served her country in the United States Navy earning the rank of Seaman First Class. Her parents, 2 brothers, and 6 sisters preceded her in death.
Rita worked for Sangamo Electric, then CIPS, and retired from Horace Mann Insurance as a clerk. She was a member of St. Cabrini Parish in Springfield.
She loved to cook, especially Italian dishes. She adored her family and was always proud of their accomplishments. She looked forward to family gatherings.
She is survived by her 2 daughters; Margaret (husband Hubert) Hinds and Cathy (husband Ray) McGill both of Springfield, 4 grandchildren; Ray M. (wife Angie) McGill of Rochester, Heather (husband Scott) Dickerson, Luke (wife Libby) Hinds and Casey (Fiancé’ Tom Riech) McGill all of Springfield, 5 great grandchildren; Dylan and Kayla Dickerson, Madison McGill, Parker Hinds, and Emma Riech, a sister, Emma McKinney of Philadelphia, PA., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, June 25, 2012 from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in the Chapel of St. Joseph’s Home 3306 S. 6th St. Rd. Springfield, IL., with Rev. Charles Dahlby celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
In lieu of flowers, those that wish may direct memorial contributions to the St. Joseph’s Home 3306 S. 6th Street Rd. Springfield, IL 62703.
