Robert Leo Beck

Robert Leo Beck, 100, of Springfield, passed away on March 26, 2024 at the Villas of Holly Brook. He was born on August 24, 1923 in Springfield to Agnes Fagan. Robert married Mary Elizabeth Doil on January 18, 1947 in Springfield and she preceded him in death on May 9, 2023.

Mr. Beck is survived by his children: Robert L. (companion Kathleen McKeown) Beck, Karol S. Van Pickerill, Gail A. (Kevin) Danenberger and Shaun P. (Cynthia) Beck, six grandchildren: Ryan, Jordan, Elizabeth, Sarah, Kelsey and Patrick and seven great-grandchildren: Rylan, Aiden, Nolan, Andrew, Cooper, Maggie and Willow. He was preceded in death by an infant son Gregory L. Beck, his parents Alfred and Agnes Griffin and three siblings.

Robert was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during World War II on the USS Indiana, the USS Alabama and the USS Massachusetts. He ran the family construction business B & M Builders with his wife Mary for thirty years and Robert and Mary wintered in Largo, Florida for forty four years.

Cremation rites were accorded and the family will host a graveside service with Military Honors at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
