

He was born July 2, 1928 in Springfield, the son of Glen F. and Elizabeth Wanless Burke. He married Muriel Graham in 1948. She survives him.
He is also survived by his three children, Susan (husband, Larry) Rowe of Springfield, Sally (husband, Jim) Parziale of Lutz, FL, and Roger Burke of Scottsdale, AZ; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Glen F. (wife, Barbara) Burke, Jr. of Hendersonville, NC; step-mother, Evelyn Farris of Springfield; a sister, Kathy (husband, Craig) DesChenes of Costa Rica.
Mr. Burke was a WWII Veteran, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his military service he attended Millikin University graduating with a bachelor’s degree. After college he worked several years for Federated Funeral Director of America. He went on to work for more than 30 years as a Treasury Agent for the IRS. After retiring in 1978 from the IRS, he went to work for the Attorney General’s Office in the State of Arizona, until retiring in 1993.
Mr. Burke always took great pride in his family, enjoyed his work, and continually emphasized the importance of education. Additionally, he was an avid football fan.
Funeral services will be private for the family.
