

He was born May 2, 1922 in Springfield, the son of Percy and Frances Freidinger Cantrall. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alice Richards Cantrall; a niece, Lynn Shanklin of Springfield; nephew, Richard Shanklin of Chagrin Falls, OH; and great nephew, Robert Alexander Shanklin of Akron, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Cantrall Shanklin.
Bob retired from CILCO in 1984 after 43 years of service. He was a proud Army infantry veteran of World War II, serving in the ETO. He and Alice loved to travel around the United States. He had varied interests including sailing, gardening, and classical music. He was a member of the former Lake Springfield Postal Club. He volunteered his woodworking talents to the Lincoln Memorial Garden and Nature Center.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
