

Bob was born on November 19, 1936, in Springfield, IL, the son of Edward and Frances (Robertson) Carnduff.
Bob graduated from Springfield High School and went on to dedicate much of his life to serving his community. He was a proud member of the Elks Club and an active participant in both the Fraternal Order of Police, the Sangamon County Sheriffs' Association, and Retired State Police Association. Bob served as a dedicated law enforcement officer for over 35 years, beginning his career with the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office and later retiring from the Illinois State Police as a Lieutenant.
He was kindhearted, hardworking, and deeply cherished his family and friends, including his weekly Mel-O-Cream coffee buds. Bob found joy in woodworking, golfing, painting, photography, and spending quality time with loved ones. He had a passion for old Westerns, horses, and classic cars, and was a devoted Cardinals fan. He also loved old country music, especially songs by Johnny Cash, and enjoyed listening to his son, Steve’s, cover bands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances; and sister, Mary Zulz.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Todd (Patty) Carnduff, Brad (Joan) Carnduff, Steve (Michelle) Clark, Suzanne (Kelly) Andres, and Dana (Dustin) Kuhn all of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Katie (Steve) Harder, Lauren (Leonard) Hubbard, Josh Carnduff, Jordan Carnduff, Connor (Madison) Carnduff, Nolan (Margaret) Carnduff, Jack Carnduff, Riley (Lauren) Clark, Tyler (Lilly) Clark, and Bodie Kuhn; brother, Michael (Kathy) Carnduff; and six great-grandchildren, Vaughn, Faye, and June Harder, Maya and Isaiah Hubbard, Bennett Carnduff, and two more on the way.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703. The Funeral Ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, 1441 Monument Ave, Springfield, IL 62702 with a special ceremony by the Illinois State Police.
