Robert "Don" Ruggless

Robert “Don” Ruggless, 56, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at his home. Don was born on January 2, 1951 in Springfield, the son of Alva “Al” and Phyllis Tomlinson Ruggless. He married Terri Elliott on May 13, 1995 in Monmouth. He graduated from Springfield High School Class of 1969 and attended Louisville Technical School. He served with the United States Army National Guard from 1971 – 1976. He was employed as a truck driver, retiring from Atlas Concrete Products after thirty-five years of service. He loved to help others and would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Don is survived by his wife, Terri Elliott-Ruggless of Springfield; four sons: Donald (wife, Jennifer) Ruggless, Nate Ruggless, Shawn Ruggless and Tawn Ruggless all of Houston, TX; two daughters: Becky Ruggless of Houston, TX and Kristina Ruggless of Wilmington, NC; one grandson, Nathan Ruggless; parents: Mr. & Mrs. Alva “Al” and Phyllis Ruggless of New Berlin; four brothers: Dave Ruggless of New Berlin, Dale (wife, Linda) Ruggless of Rochester, Ron (wife, Carolyn) Ruggless of Rochester and Roger (wife, Kate) Ruggless of Springfield; two aunts: May Miller of Springfield and Emma Ruggless of New Berlin and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family welcomes friends to visit from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2007 at McCullough – Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at McCullough –Delaney and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
