He was born on October 15, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Wayne and Opal (Martin) Greene.
Robert had a natural passion for food and hospitality as a restaurant entrepreneur. He was especially known for his love of cooking and his talent for making pies. In his 60s, Robert earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from McKendree College. Outside of his professional pursuits, Robert valued time spent socializing with lifelong friends, bringing people together through conversation, and shared meals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother who passed during childhood.
Robert is survived by his sister, Myrna Baker of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces, and nephews.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
There will be a private burial at a later date.
