Robert Katzmarek, Jr.

Robert Katzmarek, Jr. 81, of Girard, formerly of Godfrey, died at 3:55 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at his residence. Robert was born March 3, 1924 in Mt. Clare, IL the son of Robert, Sr. and Mary Warren Katzmarek. He married Myrna Craddic; she preceded him in death. He later married Betty Wineburner; they later divorced. He married Beverly Lloyd on January 24, 1976 in Gillespie. Mr. Katzmarek was a graduate of Gillespie High School. He retired in 1979 from Standard Oil where he was employed as a truck driver. He toured the country as a professional bowler and won numerous trophies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He is also preceded in death by his parents; son: Bobby and brother: Charles. He is survived by his wife: Beverly of Girard; sons: James (wife, Jean) Katzmarek of Litchfield, John (wife, Jane) Katzmarek of Benld, Randy Katzmarek of Irving; Curt (wife, Nancy) Lloyd of Granite City; daughters: Jackie (husband, Mike) Stolte of Irving, Linda (husband, Jorge) Soto of Girard; grandchildren: Jennifer, Erica and Alex Lloyd, Beth Ulrici, Matt and Mark Hughes and several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Benld United Methodist Church, 209 South Main Street, Benld IL. Memorial services will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Benld United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Craddic officiating. Burial will be in Delaware Cemetery, Shannon County, MO at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1305 Wabash, Suite J., Springfield, IL 62704.
