Robert J. Mulvihill

Robert J. Mulvihill, 85, of Springfield, died at 7:58 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at St. John's Hospice. Bob was born August 21, 1928 in Omaha, NE, the son of Joseph and Dorcas LaVelle Mulvihill. He married Elizabeth A. Roetker on August 10, 1963 in Omaha, NE. Bob was a graduate of Creighton University, where he received his law degree. He later earned two master's degrees, one in business administration and another in finance. He was vice-president of claims at Franklin Life Insurance Company and retired after 20 years of service. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Nebraska Bar Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Patrick Mulvihill. He is survived by his wife, Betty Mulvihill of Springfield; one son, Daniel J. (wife, Peggy) Mulvihill of Evanston; one daughter, Connie Cody of Springfield; three grandchildren, Ian Cody of Springfield, Dylan and Cameron Mulvihill, both of Evanston; one sister-in-law, Marge Mulvihill of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Ring celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
