Robert W. Ogden Sr., 87, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born on February 4, 1930 in Decatur to James Dewey and Ruth Wiley Ogden. Robert married Dorothy Curtis on October 13, 1951 and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2016.
Mr. Ogden is survived by one son Robert W. (Annette) Ogden Jr., of Springfield, three grandchildren: David (Rachel) Ogden, Jennifer Ogden and Amber Ogden, and one sister Barbara Peckham. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Robert was a technician with Caterpillar Inc., retiring after thirty eight years of service and he was a member of the National Guard.
In accordance with his wishes Robert’s body was donated to the S.I.U. School of Medicine in Carbondale for medical education. Services entrusted to Bisch and Son Funeral Home.
