Robert J. Wilson, 78, of Springfield, died at 10:34 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Robert was born April 30, 1934 in Springfield, the son of Edward and Leona Lawson Wilson. Robert was a graduate of Butler Elementary Grade School and graduated from a local Springfield high school. He was a member of West Side Christian Church. He regularly attended Temple Israel and Temple B'rith Sholom. He also belonged to Chaverim Senior Citizens group of Temple Israel and enjoyed sharing his faith, reading and studying the bible. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by many friends, including Doug and Rita Turner, of Springfield. Visitation: Friends will be received from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S, 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
