Ronnie "Ron" G. Wiggins

He was born on February 15, 1943, in Golden Gate, IL, the son of Wallace and Leota Wiggins. His first wife, Ronda Molohon, passed away in 1972. Ron married Kahla Diehl in 1973, in Kincaid, IL.

Ron attended Edwards County High School, Eastern Illinois University, Browns Business College, and Lincoln Land Community College. He retired from the State of IL in 1998. Ron was a member of the Rochester United Methodist church. He previously served as a Trustee on the Rochester Village Board, where he was a member of the Elks Lodge #158. Ron enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and spending time with his friends, children, and grandchildren. He was proud of his involvement with the creation of Rochester Community Park, Rochester High School girls’ soccer, and being one of the founding fathers of the Rochester Football program.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Madelene; and brother, Connie.

Ron is survived by his wife; sons, Ron Jr. and Ryan of Rochester; daughters, Jill (Ron) Krech, and Holly Dove of Springfield; and grandchildren, Hannah (Joey) Bryan, Madisyn and Cole Wiggins, Henry and Rhett Patterson, Ruby and Seth Dove, Taylor (Jon) Graves, and Adam Krech.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield, followed by Ceremony at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Rochester United Methodist Church.
