Rose M. Peters, 97, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 06, 2009 at St. John's Hospice. Rose was born on May 30, 1911 in Coal City, the daughter of Edward and Victoria Vanquelf DeVos. She married Clarence G. Peters in 1938 and he preceded her in death. Rose was a member of St. Aloysius. She was retired from Franklin Life Insurance. In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Rose will remembered most for her sweet, honest, and hardworking nature. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children, Clarence G. Peters, Jr. and Jean M. Atchisson, both of Springfield; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Deacon Ben Hoefler officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
