Rose M. Ryan, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 3:55 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at St. John's Hospice. Rose was born on April 14, 1927 in Waverly, the daughter of Frank and Irma Kepler Ryan. Rose was a 1945 graduate of Waverly High School. She formerly worked at Franklin Life, IL Assoc. of School Boards, and retired from the City of Springfield Health Dept. Rose enjoyed playing bingo, softball and was an avid sports fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Ellen Ryan; and six brothers, Robert, Maurice, Paul, Donald, Gerald, and William "Pete." She is survived by her brother, Richard "Mick" (wife, Frances) Ryan of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Caroline Ryan of Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 North Amos Ave, Springfield with Rev. Robert Jallas, celebrant. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Franklin with Deacon Roy A. Harley officiating.
