Ruth was born on January 10, 1923, in Litchfield, eldest daughter of the late Albert Vernon Hauser and Grace Baker Gregg Hauser.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Fred Herman Anderson, who died in 2003.
She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1941, and in 1945, she graduated from the University of Illinois, where she was a member of the faculty of the Rhetoric Division of the English Department. Ruth’s husband, Fred, was a student there at the time on the GI Bill. In Springfield, she was active in the Girl Scouts with a troop in Southern View, and later became a partner in her husband’s home building business.
Survivors include three daughters and a son; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five siblings.
Private family services were held with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.
