

She was born August 1, 1948, to Helen King Glasgow and Samuel Arthur Glasgow who divorced before she was born. Ruth Ann and her two sisters, Rosalie and Janet, were raised by Helen in New Berlin, IL, where they were locally known as "the girls".
She attended school in New Berlin and Illinois State University in Normal. On October 5, 1968, Ruth Ann married her high school sweetheart, Terry Lee Bilyeu; he preceded her in death on January 1, 2018.
Together, they raised three children, Bryce Stephen (Melinda), Ryan Scott (Sarah Conlon), and Bethany Leann Bilyeu. They survive along with the light of their lives and Ruth Ann's six grandchildren: Brooks, August, Annabelle, Wyatt, Graysen, and Sawyer. Also surviving are her two sisters, Rosalie Carpentier and Janet Brehm; mother-in-law, Mary Harney Bilyeu; brothers-in-law, Bruce (Leta), Kevin (Mary), and Rodney (Aida) Bilyeu; sisters-in-law, Pam Eberhart, Lisa Hill, and Melissa Bilyeu; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her long-time dear friend, Bruce Bergschneider.
Ruth Ann was also preceded in death by her mother, Helen King Glasgow Wilcox and her husband, Albert Wilcox; father-in-law, Earl Herman Bilyeu; and brothers-in-law, Albert Carpentier, Craig Bilyeu, and Paul Brehm.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
The family will host a Celebration of Life from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the VFW Post 755, 2211 Old Jacksonville Rd., Springfield. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
