Ruth Ileen Cambron, 86, of Springfield, died at 6:35 a.m. Friday, May 07, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital ER. Ruth was born April 13, 1918 in Virden, the daughter or Irvin and Amelia Harris Davis. Mrs. Cambron was employed by Sangamo Electric until they closed in 1979 and later was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Revenue retiring from there after 20 years of service in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Robert Kress. She is survived by one son: Steven Cambron of Springfield; one daughter: Judith McDonald of Springfield; two grandchildren: Christopher McDonald of Springfield and Robert Kress, II of Eldred; two nephews: Clyde “Butch” Davis and Jim Davis both of Petersburg; and several cousins. Family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m.until the Funeral Service begins at 12:00 p.m.on May 12, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62702.
