
Ruth B. Higgins of Arlington Heights, formerly of Springfield died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2001, in Arlington Heights. She was born November 15, 1913, in Springfield, the daughter of Patrick and Edith Koehl Quinlan. She married Thomas A. Higgins in 1939 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1998. Also preceded her in death were her parents and a brother, John Quinlan. Mrs. Higgins retired from the Pill Box Pharmacy as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society, St. DeMarillac Guild, St. Joseph's Coterie and a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Faeth of Springfield and Julie (husband, Michael) Losurdo of Arlington Heights; two sons, Thomas Higgins of San Francisco, CA and Richard (wife, Susan) Higgins of Carmel, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandcildren; two Sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Lott and Catherine (husband, James) and several nieces and nephews. The family of Ruth Higgins is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South 6th Street, where the family will recieve friends from 4-7:00 p.m Monday, December 3, 2001, with a wake service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Very Rev. Kevin Vann celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Home, 3306 South 6th St. Springfield, IL 62703.
