

Ruth Jane Roach of Chatham, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at her residence. She was born May 13, 1909, the daughter of Bruce A. and Pauline I. Keck Stennett. She married John Richard Roach in Springfield in 1932. He preceded her in death June 7, 1966. Mrs. Roach worked as a private duty nurse as well as in general nursing in Springfield and Winter Haven, Florida. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eagles Forum. She was also a member of the Woman's Club of Springfield, the Sacred Heart Parish of Springfield and the Sacred Heart Alter and Rosary Society. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Surviving are two sons: Charles R. Roach of St. Louis, MO; Robert S. Roach of Chatham; two daughters Mary Jane (husband, Sam) Madonia of Springfield, Paula A. Wheeler of Springfield; two sisters Mabel Stennett Corrigan of Chatham, Gretchen T. Stennett of Chatham; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2000 with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2000 at Sacred Heart Church with the Very Reverend John Renken and Reverend Eugene Cieslik officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
