

Sandra "Sandy" King Koebler, 83, of Springfield, died at 7:43 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at her home after a brief illness. Sandy was born April 15, 1934 in Rochelle, IL, the daughter of Francis "Mike" and Lucile Etnyre King. She married Richard Alan Koebler on January 27, 1954 in Urbana, IL. Richard preceded her in death on November 8, 1993. Sandy was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was an excellent cook who always had an extra seat at her table, and always had something wonderful to take to anyone in need. Her front bay window was decorated for the all upcoming holidays which always brightened up the neighborhood. Sandy was an avid reader and loved traveling, going to the movies with her family, and watching and caring for her grandchildren as they grew up. She was a die-hard Cub fan who never missed a game! She also enjoyed going to Bridge Club with her friends. She was known as "Meme" to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and almost everyone else. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Craig, Gary, and Hal King. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Kurt) Schafer, Ruth (Tom) Bellm, Karen (Tom) Reilly, and Cynthia (Mark) Maskey; sons, Kris, Todd (Jody) and Kevin Koebler, all of Springfield; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Jallas, celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
