

Sandra Doris Meyer Bron (60) passed away on June 29, 2014 in the comforting care of her family after a two-year struggle with esophageal cancer. Sandra grew up as part of an Air Force & U.S. Geological Survey family residing in several locations of New Mexico, California, Virginia and finally Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri-Rolla where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, summa cum laude, and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. In 1979, Sandra moved to Springfield and worked for 30 years at the State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency as an Environmental Protection Engineer/Project Manager in the Bureau of Water and the Bureau of Land. Sandra retired in 2009. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband, father, sister and her two brothers of Missouri and Oklahoma. She has six nephews and one great-niece. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Wisconsin, where she loved to fish and within sight of her family ancestral property.
