

Sandra A. (Ring) Zoelzer, 67, of Springfield, died at 9:05 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital, Hospice Unit. She was born on February 10, 1940 in Watseka, Illinois, the daughter of Horace N. and Mardella Tatro Ring. She married Dewey Yaeger in 1962; they later divorced. She then married Raymond Zoelzer in 1975 and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1991. Sandra worked as a teller for U.S. Bank (formerly Land of Lincoln Bank) until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower. She enjoyed flower gardening, bowling, golf and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her father: Dr. H.N. Ring and one brother: James Ring. She is survived by one son: John Yaeger of Chicago; one daughter: Cathy (husband, Kevin) Canham of Springfield; her mother: Mardella Ring of Springfield; two step-sons: Alan (wife, Janet) Zoelzer of St. Peters, Missouri and Michael (wife, Donna) Zoelzer of Sherman; nine grandchildren: Melody Canham, Emily Canham, Cassidy Canham, Steven Zoelzer, Daniel Zoelzer, Jennifer Cohn , Kelly Zoelzer, Mitchell Zoelzer and Mandy Zoelzer; one great-grandchild: Austin Cohn and one sister: Mary Catherine (husband, George Westenberger) Ring of Jacksonville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Following the visitation cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Church of the Little Flower, with Rev. Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
