Sarah Elizabeth Hoover

Sarah was born June 23, 1980, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Randy Brent and Cheri Gay Bayles Maxey. She married Caleb Hoover on June 19, 2004, in Springfield.

Sarah graduated from Glenwood High School in 1998 and earned her associate degree from SCI. She was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois-Springfield. Sarah devoted her life to caring for her family and raising her children. She loved music and attending concerts. Sarah also loved art, shopping, fashion, and makeup.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheri Maxey; paternal grandparents, Paul and Marcella Maxey; and maternal grandmother, Mary Dean Bayles.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Caleb A. Hoover of Chatham; children, Zoe, Lukas, Zenna, and Eva Hoover of Chatham; father, Randy Maxey of Chatham; brother, Nathan Maxey of GA; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL. A funeral ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Harre officiating. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.

Burial will be held at a later date.
