

Shelby Nicole Horne, 18, of Springfield, went to be with God at 1:25 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends. Shelby was born February 4, 1995 in Springfield, the daughter of Brian and Tammy Horne. Shelby attended grade school at SCS and was a 2013 graduate of Lutheran High School and had served as yearbook editor her senior year. She attended West Side Christian Church. She was involved in dance from ages four through 12 and had played both softball and volleyball. Shelby loved her dog, Ellie, and enjoyed her job at BJ Grand Salon and Spa. Shelby was also interested in vintage cars and hot rods and actually won the honor her senior year of "Best Car". She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Carol Horne and step-grandmother, Dorothy Penrod. She is survived by her parents, Brian and Tammy Horne of Springfield; grandparents, Pam and Jim Sisco of Ivesdale and Danny Penrod of Fairmount; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Her cremated remains will be scattered in her favorite place, Maui, Hawaii. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Pastor David Johnson officiating.
