
Sister Jane Marie Lamb (68) of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis died on Tuesday, March 08, 2005 at 9:45 AM at St. Francis Convent, Springfield, Illinois. Sister Jane Marie, the former Hada Faye Lamb, was born In Aud, Missouri on August 24, 1936, the daughter of James Earl and Hada Mantle Lamb. She entered the Congregation on September 8, 1954 and professed her religious vows on June 13, 1957. Sister was a 1961 graduate of St. John's Hospital School of Nursing. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from St. Louis University and a Master of Arts Degree from Sangamon State University. She served the Community as a registered nurse and pastoral care associate at hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin. She founded the SHARE program to work with parents who lost children to miscarriage or premature birth. She worked in parish ministry, served the religious community as Vocation Directress, Directress of Novices, and Coordinator of the Hospital Sisters Lay Associate Program. From 1999 until 2003, Sister was a member of the Provincial Council. At the time of her death, Sister was a volunteer at the Carol Jo Vecchie Women and Children's Center at St. John's Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Earline Lucy Lamb and two brothers: Melvin Mark and James Earl Lamb, Jr. She is survived by three sisters: Sister Mary Evelyn Lamb and Sister Jamesine Lamb, both of Springfield, and Esther (husband, Wilfred) Brandt of Kansas City, MO.; five brothers: Dale (wife, Aletha) Lamb of Lees Summit, MO., Paul (wife, Lucy) Lamb of Independence, MO., Walter William Lamb, Uncassville, CT., Charles Joseph (wife, Iona) Lamb of Kansas City, MO., Robert Owen (wife, Diane) Lamb of Sugar Creek, MO., and many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews several cousins and her Franciscan Sisters with whom she shared her life for 51 years. Visitation will be held at the Motharhouse from 4:00-7:00 PM with a Wake Service at 6:30 PM on Friday, March 11, 2005. The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Andre Schludecker, OFM on Saturday. March 12. 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Adoration Chapel at the Motherhouse. Burial will be in Crucifixion Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to National SHARE Office, St. Joseph Health Center, 300 First Capitol Dr., St. Charles, MO 63301-2893. The family and Franciscan Sisters of St. Jane Marie Lamb, OSF is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
