He was preceded in death by his father; and sisters, Patricia Goodwin and Diane Czerwinski.
Stephen is survived by his mother; sisters, Kathryn Dinardo, Carolyn Fleischli, and Victoria Perdun; stepsiblings, Carolyn Corbett, Robin Miller, Elmer Fred, Jr.; and many friends whose lives he touched.
He attended St. Aloysius Grade School, Washington Middle School, and Lanphier High School. Stephen was employed by several maintenance companies in Springfield throughout his life. He had a strong commitment to independence and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery, Taylorville, with Celebrant Judy Woerner.
