

Sue A. Hayes, 72, of Searcy, AR, formerly of Springfield, IL, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at White County Medical Center Hospice in Searcy. Sue was born December 26, 1940 in Springfield, the daughter of James and Vivian Curry Harrison. She married James C. Hayes on June 20, 1959 in Springfield. Sue was a 1958 graduate of Lanphier High School and owned her own private housekeeping business. She also worked for 20 years at St. John's Hospital in housekeeping and medical records. Sue was very proud of raising her children, as well as caring for 25 foster babies. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, knitting, Bunco, and cooking. She loved her rose bushes, hanging fuscia plants, hummingbirds and making peanut brittle. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one granddaughter, Karen Winner. She is survived by her husband, James C. Hayes; one son, James W. Hayes (companion, Kim Frick-Baskett) of Sherman; three daughters, Jamie (husband, James) Winner of Searcy, AR, Dawn (husband, Doug) Winder of Monticello, and Alison (husband, Andy) Boosinger of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (wife, Sandra) Harrison of Springfield, Marilyn Johnson of Springfield, Dennis (wife, Lois) Harrison of Petersburg, Phyllis Harrison of Dawson, Gary (wife, Kathy) Harrison of Dawson, and Becky (husband, Pete) Ochs of Springfield; sister-in-law, Linda Vandiver of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with James Winner, Doug Winder, and Rex Crossland officiating.
