

Sydney was born on February 9, 1996, in Springfield, the daughter of Dennis James and Sally Ann Skufca Putnam.
Sydney was a graduate of Rochester High School and earned her CNA license from Lincoln Land Community College. She worked at Osaka Japanese Restaurant and loved her Osaka family. Sydney was creative, artistic, fun-loving, and had a great and twisted sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Sydney loved being at the pool, spending time with her dog, Mel Mel, and made people laugh wherever she was.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rosella Skufca who loved Sydney beyond all measure; and her wonderful paternal grandparents, James A. Putnam, Betty Putnam, and Diana Putnam.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Sally Putnam of Springfield; dear father, Dennis (Theresa Bietsch) Putnam of Rochester; adored grandfather/friend, John Skufca of Chatham; four treasured siblings, Jacob (Julie) Stapleton, Kelsi (Caleb) Worsham, Nicole Stapleton, and Erin (Jake) Miller; the best nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Walsh, Willow “Big Will”, Iris, McKena, Dean, and Evelyn; close cousins Adeline, Eleanor, and Jack as well as many other cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A private family ceremony was held.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62702 in memory of her love for animals.
