Teresa Lynn (Stevens) Straub

Teresa “Terri” was born on January 25, 1959, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of James H. and Joyce Ann Ruble Stevens. She married Leslie “Les” Straub on April 8, 1989, at St. Joseph Church in Springfield, IL.

Terri attended Sherman Elementary School and graduated from Williamsville High School in 1977. She met the love of her life and husband of over 33 years, Les, while working at Jewel-Osco at Ninth Street & Converse Avenue in Springfield, IL in 1988. Terri and Les raised three children, lived in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois, and together, have been parental influences for several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was a loving wife, a loving sister, a proud mother and aunt, and an even prouder grandmother and great-aunt, with a unique sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a warm and welcoming heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Stevens; her brothers, Jimmy, Bill, and Marty Stevens; and grandson, Keith Straub.

Terri is survived by her husband Les of Spaulding; father, Jim Stevens of Springfield; sister, Gail Lemmo of Indiana; son, Shawn (Lindsay) Turner of Colorado; two daughters, Maria Straub of Indiana and Eva Straub of Illinois; six granddaughters, Juliet Straub, Esme Rock, Katlin and Kendall Cruze, and Margaret and Violet Turner; and two grandsons, Toby Straub and Kaiden Garrett.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 South Sixth Street, Springfield, IL.
