Terry J. Lowe

Terry was born on January 15, 1958, in Jacksonville, the son of Lyle and Wanda (Hopper) Lowe. He married Brenda P. Wille on March 9, 1990.

Terry attended Springfield High School. He was raised in Springfield and moved to the Chicago suburbs. In 1996, Terry came back to Springfield where he owned and operated Terry Lowe Private Detective. He was a licensed Private Detective, and he especially enjoyed the thrill of catching cheaters. Terry’s grandchildren were very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved Halloween and decorating for it and often made his own props. Terry also enjoyed fishing, training his German shepherds, and he had a green thumb, often growing his own houseplants.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Graham; sister, Cheri Judd; and brother, Randy Lowe.

Terry is survived by his wife, Brenda of Springfield; daughter, Susan (Eric) Toomey of Springfield; grandchildren, Lyndsie (fiancé, Joey Anders) Most-Gephart, Corey Voyles, Melody Most, and Ellie Toomey; brothers, Rick (Marla) Lowe of Pawnee and Roni Lowe of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 4:30 p.m. with El McCoy officiating. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.
