

He was born in Springfield, February 18, 1933 the son of J Frank and Edith P. (White) Farley Sr. He married Lael McFarland in Springfield, August 5, 1951.
Ted retired in 1992 as a brakeman and conductor after 32 years of service from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Island Grove United Methodist Church where he served on various committees and sang in the church choir. His family was very important to him. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, shuffle board, trap shooting and loved to mow grass. Ted was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Elks Lodge#158. He loved his dog Dora
Surviving are his wife, Lael, 2 sons; Theodore (wife Susan) Farley of Olathe, KS, and Gary (wife Luann) Farley of Springfield, 3 daughters; Deanna (husband Jerry) Knepler, Patty (husband David) Marr both of New Berlin, and Lisa (husband Mark) Bergschneider of Pleasant Plains, IL, 10 grandchildren; Sara (Steve) McMahon, Todd (Heather) Farley, Chris (Sarah) Knepler, Dan Knepler, Leslie Ladage, Lauren Ladage, Hannah Marr, Kathryn Bergschneider, David Bergschneider and Adam Bergschneider. 7 great grandchildren, his brother, Donald E. (Urlis) Farley of Springfield, 2 sisters; Nancy (Fred) Stelling of Jacksonville, IL, and Linda (Jim) Cumby of Springfield and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Frank and a grandson, Jared Marr.
A visitation will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 4-7 PM at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 25, 2014 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Matthew J. Woodcock officiating. Burial will follow in Woodwreath Cemetery, near New Berlin, IL.
