

Therese M. Metzmaker, 95, of Springfield died at 11:53 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at her residence. Therese was born October 31, 1921 in Springfield, the daughter of Nicholas and Clara Franz Amrhein. She married Charles Metzmaker on September 18, 1944 in Springfield and he preceded her in death in 2013. Therese was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and earned an Associate of Art Degree from Springfield College in Illinois. She was employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Chicago before moving to Seattle where her husband was stationed. Therese was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and parent. Therese was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nick Amrhein; and sisters, Clara Marie Amrhein, Margaret Weisenberg, Mary Steinlage and JoAnn Amrhein. She is survived by her daughter: Joan (husband, John) Fisher of Sydney, NE; and four sons: Jeffrey (wife, Deborah) of Rutland, MA, Peter (wife, Jan) of Whitefish, MT, Michael (wife, Leeann) of Lino Lakes, MN, and Joseph (wife, Karen) of Aurora, CO; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Christ the King with Rev.
