Thomas L. Langan

Thomas L. Langan, 56, of Springfield, died at 12:10 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. John's Hospital. Thomas was born March 29, 1953 in Springfield, the son of Marion Lee and Mary Ellen Eggleston Langan. He married Linda S. Roberts on August 8, 2008 in Springfield. Thomas attended Cathedral Grade School and graduated from Griffin High School. He began working for the State of Illinois in 1974 and was currently a Public Service Administrator for the Department of Revenue. He was an avid music lover and loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick; and niece, Mary Ellen Sukraw. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Springfield; two sons, Anthony Lee and Nicholas Patrick Langan both of Springfield; sister, Linda A. (husband, Jon) Filbrun of Springfield; two uncles, Richard (wife, Sue) Eggleston and William (wife, Norma) Eggleston; one niece, Tricia Baker; four nephews, Jason and David Filbrun, Zeid and Michael Langan; and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
