Thomas Andrew Rooney, Jr.

Thomas Andrew Rooney, Jr., 83, of St. Peter�s, MO, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012, at St. John�s Hospice in Springfield. Born May 21, 1929, in Springfield, he was the son of Thomas and Mary Simpson Rooney. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elizabeth Feltz, brothers James and George Rooney, step mother Frances Rooney, step sisters Elizabeth Kratz and Sally White, and a sister-in-law Donna Rooney. Mr. Rooney is survived by brother Peter Rooney of Chatham; sisters Mary Margaret Balculis of Lakeview, AK and Sister Marian Rooney of Chicago; step brothers Don (Doty) Bristol of Riverton and Jerry Bristol of San Francisco, CA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Rooney served his country in the United States Army in Italy during World War II occupation. He was an accountant for Young�s Sales Corporation, retiring in 1988, after 28 years. Mr. Rooney lived in the St. Louis area for 45 years. He loved to travel and play golf. Mr. Rooney was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Cremation rites were accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Burial: Monday, October 22, 2012, at 10AM, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, with Dr. Wayne Hoffman, celebrant.
