Tim Hawker, 49, of Springfield, died at 5:55 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St. John's Hospital. Tim was born, August 11, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Charles and Ruth Hill Hawker. They preceded him in death. Tim was a Lanphier High School graduate and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had been employed by the State of Illinois and held other various jobs. Tim was a strong advocate for the homeless and homeless veterans. He is survived by his brothers, Carl (Cynthia) Campo of Big Springs, MO, Michael (Linda) Hawker of McLean, and John (Mary) Hawker of Ft Lauderdale, FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and homeless friends and advocates. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Scott Brindley, officiating. Casual dress requested. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.
