Tracy L. Compston

Tracy was born on March 22, 1957, in Decatur, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Price) Wiard. She married Donald Ray Compston in 1974, and together they had two children.

Tracy worked as a hairdresser for many years at Seven to Heaven until her retirement. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, outside yardwork, being outdoors especially camping, and loved Christmas. Above all, she adored spending time with her grandbabies.

Tracy was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, James; stepfather, George Shaw; sister, Joni K. Leckrone and beloved dogs, Mystic and Betty Boo.

She is survived by her children, Donna and Christopher, both of Springfield; mother, Dorothy Shaw of Riverton; grandchildren, Joseph DiGiovanna, Chase (Justina), Mason, Adrianna, and Jaxson Compston; one great-grandson on the way; sisters, Toni (Floyd) Sellers of Petersburg, and Becky Shrum of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Funeral Ceremony & Visitation: 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, with Pastor Dave Gessaman officiating. Visitation will follow until 7:00 p.m.
