Tracy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gale (Camfield). Tracy is also survived by three children: John W. (Eastin) Meyer of Columbia, MO., Steve L. (Lisa) Meyer of St. George, Utah and Jennifer L. (Brian) Renshaw of Louisville, KY., five grandchildren: Beckett and Brooks Meyer, Jude and Jade Meyer and Jaxon Renshaw, one sister Nancy Grayheck, one brother Scott Meyer and four nieces and nephews: Jimmy and Lauren Grayheck and Nick and Allison Meyer.
Tracy graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He started his professional career at IBM where he met Gale. He smiled across his desk at her every day until she agreed to a date. Later, Tracy settled into a long and rewarding career in pharmaceuticals. Spending over twenty-five years with AstraZeneca achieving the titles of Regional Sales Director and Executive District Manager. His real gift was with people, mentoring them and fostering growth and connection that stuck with you for life. He loved to entertain and was the life of the party. He adored his family and had a magic about him at gatherings that no one could match. Give him a plain white napkin and he’d entertain the whole room. Sit him down to dinner and you might find yourself in a saltine-stuffing contest or passing crumbs around the table. He had a way of turning any ordinary moment into something worth retelling. In retirement, Tracy enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, going to auctions, and playing golf.
But above all else, his favorite people called him Pops. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. He saved his best jokes, his silliest faces, and his biggest hugs for them. Every visit was an event, every laugh a gift, and the time he spent with them was time he held closer than anything else in the world.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday June 2, 2026 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the time-of-service Tuesday at Bisch West. A burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
