Virginia "Ginny" Starling

Virginia "Ginny" Starling, 89, of Springfield passed away at 2:35 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Virginia was born on January 24, 1920 in Virginia, IL, the daughter of Brook Jacob and Annie Margaret Crane Newberry. She married Logan L. Starling on May 29, 1937 in Springfield. Virginia graduated from Springfield High School and retired from the State of Illinois. She loved to travel, loved to be with people and loved her family. She was a member of Calvary Temple, and was a Calvary Temple Golden Achiever. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Logan L. Starling; her parents; and two sisters, Pauline Orme and Dorothy Jane Archer. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (husband, Charles) Whitlow of Nokomis; Kathryn Mohn of San Antonio, TX, Suzanne (husband, David) Howell of Morton, Sally Miller of San Antonio, TX, Patty (husband, Gary) Yaris of Springfield; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Rose officiating.
