Wanda Bernice Hughes, 80, of Springfield died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Wanda was born in Chicago on April 15, 1927, the daughter of John & Elizabeth Bartosik Miezio. She married Rollo E. Hughes on September 13, 1947. Mrs. Hughes was a telephone operator and retired from Illinois Bell in 1982 with 37 years of service. She was a devoted Cub fan and enjoyed working in the yard. Surviving are two daughters Sharon Theison and Judy Williamson (husband, Roy) of Springfield; two grandsons, Tech Sgt. Kevin (wife Chrissy) Theison of Ft. Walton Beach, FL & James (wife Renee) of Springfield; two great-grand children Jordan & Hayden. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Memorial Christian Village, 3400 W. Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. Sixth St. and a Liturgy of the Word at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1020 Milton Ave, Springfield, with the Rev. Richard Chiola officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the ceremony with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.
