Wayne Hensley, 71, of Springfield passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Wayne was born December 24, 1938 in Peru, IN, the son of Wilson and Grace Sparks Hensley. He married Inez L. Patton on February 2, 1963 in Springfield. Wayne was self employed and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elda Herr and Athlene Anderson; and one brother, E. Ray Hensley. He is survived by his wife, Inez of Springfield; son, Derrick L. (wife, Elizabeth) Burger of Eureka, MO; two grandchildren, Alexis Rose Burger and Maxwell Hensley Burger; sister, Phyllis Skaggs of Springfield; two sisters-in-law, Esther Derringer and Shirley (husband, Lonnie R.) Lewis, both of Cave in Rock, IL; a special niece, Teresa (husband, David) Rohr of Olney as well as several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
