

William Michael "Bill" Hart, 72, of Ashland, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Bill was born in San Antonio, TX on February 27, 1946, the son of Edward and Dorothy Hart. His career in the x-ray technology field began in the Army and continued in the corporate sector with concentrations in sales and calibration of equipment. He will be most remembered for his dry wit, and his loves of photography, computers and electronics, ham radio, cooking, golfing, fishing, music, movies and Estes Park, Colorado. He will be dearly missed by his three children, Laura Hart of Philadelphia, PA, Robert "Bob" Hart of Winston-Salem, NC, and Kathleen and Dan Foley of Chandler, AZ; three grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Mary Barr of Aurora, CO; two nieces; one nephew; three cousins; and his beloved cat, Cheddar. Family and friends are welcome to attend: Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield, IL with Rev. Christopher House, celebrant. Burial with full military honors to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
