William "Bill" McCarty

William "Bill" McCarty, 84, of Springfield, died on Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Bill was born May 6, 1931 in Springfield, the son of Charles and Helen Huelsman McCarty. He married Susie Hinman; she preceded him in death on March 8, 2013. Bill graduated from Springfield High School and was employed as a Union Carpenter and Home Builder for Armstrong Builders for over 30 years. He also worked as a Bingo caller at the Caritas Hall. He was a member of the Greater Springfield Bowling Hall of Fame, past Director of the Greater Springfield Bowling Association, and member of the Eagles Club. Bill enjoyed Bingo and bowling, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play baseball, and travelling to Florida and Las Vegas. He was also preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his three daughters, Karon (husband, William) Morton of Springfield, Brenda (husband, Robin) George of Willow Springs, MO, and Tracy (husband, John) Rivera of Springfield; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Don (wife, Jane) McCarty of Eureka, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Curtis Batchelder officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
