William Edward Billy T Whitlock, III, 54, of Springfield, passed away at his residence December 5, 2016. He was born November 17, 1962 in Springfield to William Edward and Sherry Ann Lyons Whitlock, Jr. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Edward and Rebecca Paige Whitlock and Amos Leroy and Tressie Lee Dillard Lyons; step mother, Deborah Ann Whitlock, uncle, Richard Thomas Whitlock, Sr. He joined the Navy after attending Virden High School. Bill worked for the State of Illinois in IT for several agencies including Dept. of Revenue, Lottery, CMS, where he retired after many years of service. He will be greatly missed by his parents, William Whitlock, Jr. of Glenarm and Sherry Ann Lyons of East Liverpool, Ohio; brother, Greg Whitlock of Springfield; sisters, Tressie Whitlock of Auburn and Sharah Whitlock of Glenarm; 4 nephews, 2 nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation rites were accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Private family services will be held. Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, is serving the Whitlock family.
