

William "Billy" Robert Anders, Sr., 71, of Springfield, died at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Billy was born October 18, 1944 in Springfield, the son of Carl William and Mary Kathryn Frohwitter Anders. Billy graduated from Griffin High School and was employed as a hot tar roofer for 50 years. He was employed with Schmidt Brothers and later for Henson Robinson. He also was a bartender for Coonrods Tavern for many years. Billy was a member of Roofers Local Union #112 and the Anchor Boat Club. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Ollie, playing cards with his buddies, and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, William "Billy" R. (fiance, Roslina Jourdan) Anders, Jr. and Phillip (wife, Gayla) Anders, both of Springfield; daughters, Robyn (husband, Marcus) Folks of Nashville, TN and Andrea Martin of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Jasmine Jourdan, Alecia Houston, Robert Folks, Trevor Martin, Matthew Martin, and Mahri Martin; several great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Anders of New Berlin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and beloved dog, Ollie. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Laughery officiating.
