William "Billy" Carroll, 46, of Beardstown, formerly of Alexander, died on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at his home. Billy was born February 8, 1964 in Marquette, MI, the son of William F. and Mary Robbins Carroll. Billy graduated from Franklin High School. He was employed by Cargill Meat Packing Company in Beardstown. Billy enjoyed fishing, playing softball, golfing and NASCAR. He was a fun, loving guy who enjoyed telling jokes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. Billy is survived by his mother, Mary Baker of Alexander, father, William F. Carroll of Jacksonville; two brothers; Robert E. Carroll (companion, Becky Chaudoin) of Franklin and Garry L. Baker (Dawn) of Murrayville; step-brother, Chuck Baker (Janette) of Jacksonville; as well as other step-brothers, step-sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center The family will receive friends from 10:00 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. A funeral ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Wood Wreath Cemetery with military honors provided by U.S. Marine Corps.
