William "Darell" Nickel, 70, of Edinburg, died at 5:08 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center. Darell was born December 26, 1947, in Springfield, the son of Fred and Mary Adcock Nickel. He married Rebecca Sue Yoho on June 19, 1971, in Springfield. Darell graduated from Springfield High School and was employed for 36 years with Fehring Iron Works. He was a member of Edinburg Christian Church and loved cars and dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents. Darell is survived by his wife, Becky Nickel of Edinburg; son, Isaac Nickel of Edinburg; daughter, Buffy Nickel of Edinburg; one grandchild, Iain Haynes of Chatham; and siblings, Dallas (wife, Donna) Nickel of Greenville, Mary Alice Phillips of Springfield, and Ada (husband, Pat) Lavin of Broken Arrow, OK. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Lakeside Christian Church, 225 Toronto Rd., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Lakeside Christian Church with Chaplain Dan Spruell officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Park.
