William Leroy Flemming, 81, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at St. John's Hospital. Mr. Flemming was born September 4, 1927, the son of J. Leroy and Florence Stumpf Flemming. He married Aileen Stanley on August 26, 1957 at The Vatican. He worked overseas at the Arabian American Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as an accountant from 1952 to 1970. Preceding William in death are his parents. He is survived by his wife, Aileen of Springfield; his sons, William J. (wife, Sung) Sugar Hill, GA and Daniel R. Flemming of Sherman, IL; his daughter, Elizabeth A. (husband, Daniel) Sullivan of Commerce, MI; five grandchildren, Katharine, Nicholas, and Neil Flemming, and Riley and Conor Sullivan; in addition to several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Christ the King Parish, 1930 Barberry, Springfield. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin de Porres, 1725 S.
